    Description

    1939 1940 CADILLAC LASALLE HOOD BIRD ORNAMENT WITH HOOD LATCH.Pitting on shiny chrome, often lost base included, with always lost little spring. I believe the bird is made with a steel spine cast into pot metal for extra strength. I can see a tiny crack in the pot metal , maybe from a frozen pin, The hinge moves freely now and it will work fine on a car.
    The hinge pin is nice and tight and does not wiggle. Threads have been recut and new bolts have been installed.  This is a nice hood bird for a Driver, not for a show car. If I have a better one I will list it at a higher price.
