Item Description
This is an extremely handsome, beautiful and rare Pair of
Antique French Sterling Silver & Cut Crystal Wine Decanters
by Pierre Gavard, active 1886-1895 in Paris.
OFFERED FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION is this fabulous Pair of
Antique French Sterling Silver Wine Decanters
in most opulent Rococo revival style decoration, finely crafted by skillful Parisian master silversmith Pierre Gavard, active 1886-1895. The Pair is not exactly identical; there are slight differences in size and design on the handles, top finials, and the edge of bottom parts of silver base. But the Pair is perfectly beautiful together. Beautiful Rococo style adornments applied to the lid, handles and base, including
rocaille
scallop border, scroll and floral. The work is just superb and done with a masterful attention to detail. The crystal body has elegant floral etching of swags and bouquets.
