THIS LISTING IS FOR A LARGE ANTIQUE STERLING SILVER WATER PITCHER BY DOMINICK & HAFF, NEW YORK, c. LATE 1800's-EARLY 1900's. THE DESIGN  FEATURES AN INTRICATELY CHASED FLORAL, SCROLL AND LEAF PATTERN IN RELIEF.  MARKED WITH THE DOMINICK & HAFF TRADEMARK STAMP AND "STERLING, 96490, 4 1/4 PINTS". DOMINICK & HAFF BEGAN BUSINESS IN 1872 AND WAS ORIGINALLY ALIGNED WITH THE FAMOUS AMERICAN FIRM OF WILLIAM GALE & SON. THE COMPANY WAS PURCHASED BY REED & BARTON IN 1928.
MEASURES 10 3/4" HIGH, 9" WIDE WITH A 4 1/2" DIAMETER BASE. WEIGHS 1190 GRAMS OR 32 OUNCES.
THIS STUNNING PITCHER IS IN EXCELLENT ESTATE CONDITION WITH NO NOTED FLAWS. THERE ARE TWO SPOTS THAT SHOW ON THE INSIDE OF THE SPOUT WHERE THE DESIGN HAND WORK WAS DONE ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE SPOUT.  OTHER SIMILAR SPOTS ARE VISIBLE ON THE INTERIOR OF THE PITCHER AS EVIDENCE OF THE HAND WORKED DECORATION.
