Emmett Charley’s premium hand made leather four ply bolo cords with sterling silver bolo tips. These Bolo cords measure 36 inches from one end to the other. The sterling silver bolo tips are 1 7/8” tall and 1/4” wide. These are four ply bolo's meaning there are four leather straps braided into one cord. These are made of genuine leather and are of the highest quality. These are hand made by Navajo leather craftsman Emmett Charley
Emmett braids our premium leather bolo Cords. He has been braiding bolo cords since he was 12 years old. Emmett lived in Leupp, Arizona and the family would visit his eldest sister every weekend who lived in Mentmore, New Mexico. His sister, unemployed at the time, would make bolo cords for a local vendor for extra cash to buy groceries to feed her family. When overwhelmed and needing help, she showed Emmett and their siblings how to braid. During the summers, he stayed with his sister and she introduced Emmett to a few vendors who in turn would give him supplies to make bolo cords and that's how they would buy there school supplies and gas. Emmett appreciates the value of braiding bolo cords as it helps him now that he is older to pay bills or buy necessities. Braiding bolo cords is also a bonding experience with his family, especially his sister and her kids. Emmett uses a table and piece of railroad tie while everyone sits in a circle to braid. It brings everyone together while watching movies or catching up.
