Huge Vintage Native American Handmade Belt Buckle by Navajo Silversmith Leonard Burnside (LB). The Nickel Silver Buckle consists of Crushed Turquoise, Snowflake Obsidian, Purple Amethyst, Blue webbed Turquoise, Red Coral, Green Turquoise Nuggets & Nevada Green Turquoise Carved Arrowheads on each side with a multi colored Beaded Thunderbird in the center. The Turquoise Arrowheads have beautiful golden veins; one even has a touch of red in it. They are surrounded by Purple Amethyst and the Thunderbird is framed by Snowflake Obsidian. All hand placed in this amazing pattern. The buckle is signed (LB) for Leonard Burnside. The buckle is in very good vintage condition (exactly as seen in photos) nothing missing, nothing broken. Most likely a one of a kind Buckle. Based on research and a couple of his other jewelry works, this Buckle would have been made
(circa early to mid 1960’s).
Leonard Burnside’s works have become extremely hard to find and rarely come up for sale. Details Below:
