DETAILED DESCRIPTION
:
I am offering an Old Pawn Navajo handcrafted labor-intensive primitive Sandcast coin silver (900 fine silver) & turquoise belt buckle. The old price on the back is still faintly evident. Clearly a wonderful early buckle with a primitive copper rod belt loop construction not seen on newer Sandcast buckles. Belt buckle is slightly contoured for a nice fit, created for a 1 3/8" or smaller leather belt, measures 3" across x 1 7/8" long at the center. Central old natural turquoise stone, likely early Royston turquoise set into a plain silver bezel with silver roping. Early traditional Navajo winged design with crescent stamp work, first learned by the Navajo thanks to J L Hubble at his Ganado Trading Post in the late 1800's, weighs a solid 56.6 grams. Comparable buckles located on eBay with 0.00+ price tags. Both sides shown up close for your inspection. All the vintage and old pawn Native American jewelry I am offering has decades behind it, thus gently and lovely used. All the jewelry is left 100% untouched (not cleaned or polished) with the original aged patinas as this buckle clearly exhibits great age.
