Rare Gorham Copper & Silver Ewer TrophyDescription:
For your consideration is this Gorham copper & silver ewer trophy. Bottom marked "Gorham Co" with date mark "O" representing 1882 with anchor & shield trademark. This wonderfully shaped slender bulbous ewer has long tubular spout, large c handle fitted with two hear rings, silver sprout, a central silver band with an embossed design, hinged shaped ball type lid with silver fitting. Measures about 13 inches tall, 6 & 1/2 inches wide from handle to sprout and about 4 & 3/4th inches in diameter at belly. Good condition with age appropriate wear to the piece. Over hundred years. Engraved on belly: "Rose Tree Stakes Two Miles Won by CH Townsend May 18, 1882" (there is a line that I skipped because I can not make it out, it might be the name of a horse?).
I strongly encourage viewing the pictures as they accurately reflect the beauty and condition of piece. Tracking number will be provided. Please ask any and all questions, or request additional pictures, before purchasing. Thank you and happy shopping!
